1. The Fox and the Grapes
Once upon a time, there was a fox who saw a cluster of ripe grapes hanging from a high branch. The fox tried to reach them, but he couldn’t stretch his paw far enough. Frustrated, he gave up and walked away, muttering to himself, “Oh, those grapes are sour anyway!”
2. The Tortoise and the Hare
In a lush green meadow, a slow-moving tortoise challenged a swift hare to a race. The hare, confident in his speed, agreed and the race began. The tortoise, although slow, never gave up. The hare, tired of waiting, took a nap along the way. When he woke up, he found the tortoise was almost at the finish line. Humiliated, the hare realized that slow and steady wins the race.
3. The Lion and the Mouse
A lion, feeling very powerful and fearless, caught a small mouse. Just as he was about to eat it, the mouse pleaded for mercy. The lion, feeling amused, agreed to spare the mouse’s life. Later, while the lion was sleeping, the mouse bit the lion’s tail. The lion, in pain, chased the mouse, but the mouse managed to escape. The lion learned that even the weakest can help those in need, and he never forgot the mouse’s kindness.
