The Poem of Ascending a High Mountain
Du Fu
The wind is fierce, the sky high, the monkeys howl in sorrow,
The river clear, the sand white, the birds return.
Endless falling leaves rustle down,
The endless Yangtze River surges forward.
For thousands of miles, I often wander in the sorrow of autumn,
For a hundred years, I have many diseases and climb the stage alone.
Difficulties and bitterness add white frost to my hair,
I am fallen and can no longer drink the muddy wine cup.
