The Tortoise and the Hare
Once upon a time, there was a hare and a tortoise who decided to have a race. The hare was fast, and the tortoise was slow. The hare said to the tortoise, “I run fast, and you run slow, so I will definitely win you.” The tortoise replied, “Although I run slowly, I will not give up and I will try my best to run the whole course.”
The race began, and the hare ran very fast, quickly overtaking the tortoise. The hare thought, “I run so fast, how can the tortoise possibly catch up with me?” So, the hare stopped to rest and even fell asleep under a tree.
The tortoise, although slow, kept running tirelessly. He slowly approached the hare, but the hare was still sleeping. The tortoise continued to work hard and finally caught up with the hare. When the hare woke up, he found the tortoise standing in front of him. The hare was very surprised to find that he had lost to the tortoise.
The hare asked the tortoise, “How can you run so fast? I clearly run faster than you.” The tortoise replied, “Although I run slowly, I will not give up and I will try my best to run the whole course.”
The hare listened to the tortoise’s words and felt ashamed. He decided to learn from the tortoise and never be proud and self-satisfied again. From then on, the hare and the tortoise became good friends and worked hard together, helping each other.
