In the Night Journey on the Yellow Sand Road
By Xin Qiji
The moon shines bright, casting a silver glow,
On the Yellow Sand Road where I roam.
The wind whispers through the trees,
And the cicadas sing in the night.
The stars twinkle in the sky,
While I walk alone, far from home.
The distant mountains loom,
Their peaks veiled in misty gloom.
The moonlight dances on the sand,
Reflecting the loneliness I feel.
I think of my hometown,
Where the rivers flow and the flowers bloom.
The years have passed, and the seasons change,
Yet my heart remains the same.
I long for the days of my youth,
When I roamed the fields in the sun.
The Yellow River flows, ever strong,
Carrying the dreams of the people.
I hope for a ful land,
Where the people can live in harmony.
The night is long, and the road is dark,
But my heart is filled with hope.
For one day, I will return,
To the land of my birth, my home.
