【原文】

自三峡七百里中，连山，略无阙处。重岩叠嶂，隐天蔽日，自非亭午夜分，不见曦月。

【翻译】

In the Three Gorges, which stretch for seven hundred miles, the banks are connected by continuous mountains, with no gaps in sight. High cliffs and layered peaks hide the sky and the sun, so that only at noon or midnight can the sun and the moon be seen.
